Dear members.
It is with great sadness we have learned of the passing of Maisie Malone, mother of our secretary Kieran. Maisie passed away today peacefully. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to Kieran and his family at this particularly sad and difficult time.
***Coolattin Cancelled due to Coronavirus. Matchplay suspended until further notice. ****
***Update on Weekend Away and Covid 19.***
We have been in constant communication with Farnham Resort and would like to update you on the Covid 19 developments and the weekend away.
The hotel closed their doors to protect customers and staff on March 18th and is due to reopen on April 17th.
Keeping the health and safety of our members in mind and with golf currently considered a safe sport while following GUI guidelines (see link below), the sub-committee have taken the decision to proceed with our May weekend if possible, as planned.
Due to the changing circumstances and with the resort working with us on pre-payments, the sub-committee would like to assure you that all deposits paid and remaining sums to be collected are under our society’s control. We have taken the decision to keep to our timetable of collecting remaining monies at the end of March or at the latest at the Coolattin Outing Saturday 4th April.
Should it become necessary to cancel the May weekend, the resort will be happy to defer to a later date, as this is what is currently happening with wedding bookings etc. Only time will tell what challenges we will face in the weeks ahead.
If anyone has any concerns whatsoever and would like to discuss them please contact Seamus Breen directly. (087 2111466)
Currently, we still intend to hold our outing in Coolattin G.C. under GUI guidelines, (see link below). Coolattin has confirmed they will have the golf course open for us but there will be no bar of food facilities available.
I’m sure most of you are fed up been lock down and would like to get a game or walk in.
Please look after yourselves and your families in these trying times.
